Top Successful Paid Traffic Tricks
I often see forum questions such as "What would you do with $50?" You might be surprised to see answers such as, "I would buy a six pack of beers, buy ice cream for the kids and order pizza..." or "I would save it for job hunting, faxing, transport and interviews"
That's what people do with $50 and you can't blame them.
In order for paid traffic to work for you then you'll need to switch your mindset. Look at paying for traffic as buying Data not spending money, by Data I mean email address, telephone number, zip code etc... The knowledge you'll get is also data, if you didn't know, now you know. So you're not loosing money.
You have to remember that you're building a business. You are not gambling. People think this is like the lottery where you pop in cash and hope for the best. Here you loose some to win some, so go find a job till you are ready.
I know it's harsh but just be realistic. I don't know any successful business that was started with $50.
Here are some tips you can use to be successful with paid traffic.
Why Paid Traffic?
Unlike search traffic where you 1st have to wait and build backlinks or write tons of articles, with paid traffic you get instant results and no need to worry about any Google algorithm update. If you want traffic in the next 30 minutes you can get it fast anytime just as long as you have the cash.
The best part is that it's measurable, you know how much you should spend to get X amount of visitors. Then you can easily scale it and analyse the data to see what's working and get rid of what is not working.
Once you do a lot of split testing then it becomes predictable. That's when you start to see patterns and common stuff and take your business to the next level at lightning speed.
So How Much Should I Have To Get Started?
People spend thousands of dollars to start their businesses or buy a franchise. Look at how successful online businesses such as Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, iTunes, Amazon etc... I would advise you is to think big. A lot of people these days are coming into the internet marketing industry for a quick buck.
So how much you need to spend is all up to you. What I can tell you is that focus on buying data and converting that data into paying customers.
A lot of marketers recommend that you have a budget of at least $1000 a month just for advertising, and I vouch for that. If you want to build a long term business then you need to aim high and role with the big guns.
Another advise I can give you is that be careful which market or niche you invest your money on.
For instance, using paid traffic for the cooking or dog niche will get you better conversions as compared to promoting internet marketing stuff. Especially if you're a beginner and you have no reputation. You can use any traffic source you want, you just have to learn how it works. But...
...My Favourite Paid Traffic Source is Facebook Ads
A lot of people fail with Facebook Ads simply because they don't want to do research before diving in and creating Ads. I would rather spend $97 for a course/program than loose thousands of dollars testing what works. So invest in yourself 1st then go out there and take action that way you'll have a better chance of succeeding.
Basically, Facebook ads work in 2 different ways. There's external market place ads and internal. External is when you redirect the visitor to another website and internal is keeping the traffic on Facebook by using fan page tabs for instance.
Your advertising cost will be cheaper when you keep the traffic within facebook as compared to sending them to another website. Ads that go to external sites have a lower chance of getting approved. So driving the traffic to a fan page tab is not only going to get you cheap clicks or getting all your offers approved but it will increase the number of likes and engagement on your fan page.
So create a fan page tab, drive traffic to it and build an email list while building a fan base, also make sure that you keep the page updated and interact.
If Facebook Ads don't work for you then you're not doing it right!
There's a lot of great paid traffic sources online such as Stumbleupon (underrated but really powerful), Youtube, Twitter, Plenty of Fish, Bing, Yahoo & Goolge Ads. You can even pay for a sponsored post on famous blogs.
A lot of marketers believe Google Plus paid page ads are also great as compared to Facebook. What I know for sure about Google plus is that Hash-tags work really well and bring a lot of free traffic.
If you have cash there's a lot of things you can do, so do yourself a big favor and invest some money before getting into paid traffic. Invest some for knowledge then some for the ads.
The key is to focus on using one source of traffic till you master it then try the other ones later. I believe with the right knowledge you can make any of these traffic sources work for you.
The last thing I'll leave you with today is that "Most Tests Will Fail." This is just like SEO for instance, not all the blog comments or backlinks you send to your site will improve your rankings. So you keep going till you start to see positive results.
In order to get more visitors to your blog or offer using paid traffic you need to switch your mindset and treat it like a real business. Don't do it for a quick buck.
